WHAT WE DO
- Just Montessori invites the child into an aesthetically prepared environment. The environment is comprised of Montessori materials carefully placed in the corresponding areas of the classroom. These areas include Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematic, Language, Culture, and Science. All Montessori materials in the classroom have a “Purpose” and a “Control of Error”, allowing the focus to be on the process of learning rather than the product. Being in a child-centred classroom promotes individuality and allows the child to work at their own pace, developing their self-confidence. With the environment as the third teacher, the children are given the opportunity to take pride in their personal achievement and independence, and furthermore, experience the joy in learning.
WHO WE ARE
- The educators in the classroom show love, care, and respect towards each unique child, always putting the safety, supervision, and well-being of each child in our care as a top priority. They link the child and the environment as they guide and introduce materials based on the observations of each child’s individual abilities, needs, and interests. The introduction of the materials is presented to each child individually when they are ready. The child can then choose which material they would like to work on during a work period, empowering them to make personal choices and problem-solve. By maintaining a consistent routine and organization of the classroom, the educators model a sense of calmness and security as the child takes on new challenges.
